‘Preparation’ was painted during my residency at the Wellington Botanic Gardens in 2023. While my palette is usually quite and still, the riot of colour in the beds cried out for attention.

This piece is painted in oils, which I use exclusively for their smoothness, flexibility and wonderful blending ability.
