Eyrie
‘Eyrie’, a portrait of a child sharing a nest with ospreys, explores my ongoing interest in human instinct and our connection to the natural world. What does it mean to be home, to be comfortable? How much of what we do is still influenced by animal instinct? What would our lives look like without artificial lights, clocks and timetables dictating the rhythms of our days?
This piece is painted in oils, which I use exclusively for their smoothness, flexibility and wonderful blending ability.
