This fine art print is a reproduction of an original oil painting. ‘Ritual’ is a collection of insects – brought to me in wonder by small hands, these tiny creatures required a more honorable burial than being put in the rubbish bin. It is a human trait to to make meaning out of the meaningless, and the arrangements in all my still life paintings are laden with meaning both real and imagined. They capture moments of quiet beauty, weaving together memories, objects, stories and myths – exploring what it is to be a human, a family member, and an observer of the world.
